September 27, 1954 ~ March 23, 2021

We are the last of our immediate family, Gail Suttie, Howard Delorme, and Bruce Labatiuk, so sad we are to announce the sudden death of our 2nd youngest sibling, Janice Jewell Delorme.

Janice was predeceased by our parents, as well as, siblings Patrick, Linda; brothers Lee, and Gaye.

In addition, Janice’s new found friend, Angie Letendre wrote her sentiments “I had the privilege of knowing Janice for only a short time, but she left an indelible impression on my heart and we became very quick friends. I share the deep faith Janice had, and I look forward to seeing her again in the promised paradise here on earth. (Matthew 6:10) Here she will be young and healthy. She will know what it is like to be truly free – free from cancer, free of worry, free of any anxiety and sadness with wonderful caring friends”

Janice had a very distinctive laugh that often triggered others near her to break into laughter in response. This was due, in part, to her keen sense of humor. She was very engaging person while gregariously cultivating fast friends for life.

Janice had empathy for those in need of assistance in many different ways. Witnessing a pedestrian car accident at age 5 and upon seeing the actions of the ambulance attendants treating and comforting the patient, she was determined to do what those attendants did to ease the pain and anguish of that stricken woman.

Janice, in her second career at 29 years of age set out to fulfill that dream and became the dedicated, compassionate, generous Nursing Aid who loved all  patients given into her charge mainly at Royal Alex hospital in Edmonton. Janice was 66 years of age succumbing very quickly by the menacing covid 19 virus while in hospital care.  

Janice was comforted and soothed by the words of Jesus Christ recorded in the Bible at John 5: 25-28, 29-“Most truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live”….”Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life….”

We will see Janice again in the renewed paradise of God. (Jeremiah 29:11)

After a long, valiant and brave fight, Liz Poirier passed away the morning of February 2, 2021 at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Ron Erikssen; daughters, Debbie Lockwood and Donna Poirier; step-sons, Danny, Darren and Bob; her 4 grandchildren, Ryan Berg, Jenna O’Riordan, Sarah Sherwood and Johnny Poirier; 5 great-grandchildren, Kaden, Aunika, Kcevyn, Carson and Elizabeth; as well as many nieces & nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Louise Mizolek and Sabina Long; brothers, Henry, Richard & Albert Rakowski. Also mourning her loss is her lifelong friend Florence (Bob) Nieberding and other friends. Liz was predeceased by her much-loved son, Gerry Poirier, and her sister, Carol Livingston.

Liz will be remembered by many as a hard working, fun loving person who loved to dance and laugh.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cecil Elliott on December 29, 2020 at the age of 90 after a short illness. Cecil is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joy; his 3 sons, Bill (Trish) Elliott of Ardrossan, Pat (Caryn) Elliott of Sherwood Park and Joel (Jacqui) Elliott of Tacoma,WA; as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and his one remaining brother, Wilf (Jean) Elliott of Biggar, SK.

Cecil was born and raised on the family farm near Shaunavon, SK along with his 11 siblings. His teenage years were spent working on their farm, helping neighbours thrashing and working on a ranch in Montana. After a brief stint of building grain elevators, oil patch work, building irrigation canals and working on the Eastend Dam, Cecil settled into a 40-year career of Road Construction. His career with Standard Gravel, Mannix & LaFarge consisted of building streets in Edmonton & Calgary, airports (in Cranbrook, Lethbridge. Norman Wells & Dawson Creek), a pulp mill in Powell River, the Yellowhead Highway between McBride & Prince George and the Big Horn Dam. In his 30+ years of retirement he has enjoyed time with his grandchildren, reminiscing, gardening, reading, going for long walks and watching all sports on TV.

Cecil was predeceased by his parents Robert & Ivy Elliott of Shaunavon, SK, 10 of his siblings and great-granddaughter Lily.

The family would like to thank the Grey Nuns Hospital for their compassionate care of Cecil during these difficult times.

At Cecil’s request no formal service will be held and he will make one final trip “home” to the farm.

December 10, 1927 ~ December 30, 2020

The family of Agnes Violet Ferguson is saddened to announce her passing December 30, 2020 at the age of 93 years with family by her side. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Darrel (Dawna), Clement (Darlene), Linda, and Rita; her sister, Phyliss; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Ida (nee Schenk) Nimmo; brothers, Earl, Bob, Allan and Ron; husband, Henry; partner, Bill Venker; children, Clayton and Deidre; grandchildren, Robin, Sandy and Miranda; great grandchild, Darrel; best friends, Mary and Ruth. Vi was 3^rdof 6 children born to Joe and Ida Nimmo, born and raised on the family farm near Briercrest, Saskatchewan. Her early married years were spent living on the Wood Mountain Reserve where her first 5 children were born and where she made many life long friends. The family moved into Moose Jaw in mid 50’s and she then moved to Edmonton in the 70’s. As an adult she thoroughly enjoyed her career as a cook which began at the Country Club Restaurant in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Vi was head cook at restaurants in Edmonton and work camps in Cambridge Bay. She eventually retired to a beautiful acreage near Tofield, Alberta and after a few years back to Edmonton. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking at home too, especially for family dinners. She enjoyed gardening, sewing up aprons and pot holders for gifts, and everyone in the family sported a pair of her beautifully made cozy knitted slippers. She loved to go dancing as often as possible and always played tapes of her favourite country tunes.

The Ferguson family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Dickensfield Extended Care Centre for their kindness, compassion and expert daily care.

September 20, 1948 ~ December 21, 2020

It is with heavy hearts and sadness the family of Leo Blanchard announce his passing on December 21st, 2020 in his 72nd year. Leo will be missed dearly by his children, John (Fern), Claire (Vern) and their mom, Jackie; grandchildren, Russell, Simon, Steven, Crystal; and 5 great grandchildren. Leo also leaves his brother, George and his sister, Aline (Javen Brose). He will be missed by many friends and his coffee buddies. Leo was predeceased by his parents: Rosaire and Georgette Blanchard.

We wish to send a special thank you to all the staff at Miller Crossing for their care and compassion. As well, to Rebecca at Fountain Garden Funeral Services for all her help and kindness.

June 14, 1929 ~ December 13, 2020

With heavy hearts the family of Krystyna Kuzminski announces her passing at the age of 91 years. She leaves behind her brother, Jerzy Stokowski of Poland; nieces, Ewa Stokowski, Hanna Wojtowicz and Violetta Stokowska-Hajdasz of Edmonton; as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends around the world.

Krystyna was predeceased by her loving husband, Josef.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dickinsfield Extended Care for the dedicated and wonderful care of Krystyna.

Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions a private funeral has taken place.

It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Bonnie Roberta Paridaen on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Bonnie leaves to mourn her husband and partner of 45 years, Paul; children, Celina (Dale, Cleveland and Lyric), Matthew (Ainsley) and Katherine; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Irene (1973) and Tom (1982).

Don was born at Bathurst, New Brunswick on September 29, 1937 to Eugena and Joseph. He worked hard as a projectionist in the movie theater industry his whole career and loved it. On Don’s off time he enjoyed doing wood work and going on long drives to anywhere in the country. Don met his first wife Pat at the old Capital Theater and they had 7 children together; Donald, Deborah, Eric, Lawrence, Christopher, Jeannie and Stephen. He met his second wife Anne in Montreal and together they had 4 children; Jessica, Melanie, Sebastian and Amanda. Don will be forever remembered and loved by all his children and grandchildren.

October 27, 1956 ~ August 5, 2020

Susan Arlene Bearchell was born on October 27, 1956 in Edmonton, Alberta to Madeline Julia Bearchell “Julie” and Walter Benjamin Bearchell “Bennie”. Susan was the middle child of 5, Christine, David, Ruth, and Mathew.

Susan was a strong, fierce and God fearing woman, who always kept family at the forefront of her life. Mature at a young age, Susan had taken on the duties of helping out at home, taking care of her younger siblings, and even, later on, taking care of her own mom, during the course of a 14 year battle with cancer. A struggle they were able to overcome together.

Though she eventually lost her own mother, she went on to be a beautiful single mother herself, raising an incredible daughter, Nola Bearchell, and her 3 young grandchildren, twins, Chloie and Jessie Bearchell, and their younger sister, Vanessa Bearchell. She also helped in the upbringing of her 5 other grandchildren.

Through the many trials, tribulations, and hardships, life threw their way, Susan always made their house a home for her family, and for others. She was an open, loving, kind, and thoughtful woman, who always put others before herself. She was giving of all that she had– whether it be money, food, her home, her time, or her heart. Susan shaped her life around her loyalty to Christ and dedication to following in Jesus’ footsteps. In addition to being a mother and grandmother, she’d also become an at home minister, who pastored and befriended the struggling, the addicted, the poor and the hurting. She found a way to bring light, love and guidance to many, through her passion for God, and her love and kindness for others.

Always a visionary, she spent her time teaching, writing, drawing and painting; making music and art, and designing in some form or another. She filled her home with an abundance of love, worship, laughter, and fun.

Susan Bearchell had big dreams and an even bigger heart. She inspired many, loved deeply, and was loved wholeheartedly. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Nola Bearchell; her 8 grandchildren, Chloie, Jessie, Vanessa, Justin, Melody, Adam, Sasha, and Cloud; her sister, Ruth Dato; her brother, David Bearchell; her nephews, Neil, Gary and Mathew; nieces, Sara, and Christine; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

November 5, 1996 – May 13, 2020

We are heartbroken to announce that Levi passed away suddenly on May 13, 2020 in Stony Plain, Alberta at the age of 23 years.

Levi was a kind-hearted, loving young man who was always interested in others. He touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.

Levi will lovingly be remembered by his parents, Cory and Anna; sister, Sara; brother, Jessen (Aleisha); grandparents, Ernie and Marilyn Collingridge and Frank and Mary Wazny; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless friends.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who have supported us, even our friends around the world, for the love and generosity shown during this difficult time.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 via the Zoom Conferencing Application.
