February 11, 1940 – April 06, 2026

With grieving hearts, we announce the passing of David Nestor Tycholaz. David passed away suddenly in the late afternoon of Monday, April 6, 2026 at the age of 86 years old.

David is survived by his only daughter, Brenda a.k.a. Brandi in Vancouver, British Columbia; brothers, Edward and Bobby; and sisters, Diane Luce, Karen Bowman. He was predeceased by his wife, Gail Wanda Tycholaz who passed away eight months before him; parents, Steve and Doris Tycholaz; brothers-in-law, Russ Luce and Albert Tutte.

David was born and raised in Dauphin, Manitoba. Later in life Dave, Gail, and Brenda lived in Thunder Bay, Ontario until the Dow Chemical closed down and he accepted a transfer to Dow in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta in 1974-1975. He was a Supervisor at VCM Plant until he retired in the mid 90’s. He had vast knowledge of mechanics and was a highly skilled Millwright at Dow (VCM). Dad would go in to work during “shut down” and fix the pumps and machines, when no one else would want to come in, staying a week at work to do this!

Dad enjoyed taking us out boating and on camping trips in our trailer, around Alberta and British Columbia. As well as road trips to visit my grandparents in Dauphin, Manitoba and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Dad ran our girls softball team being our coach and built me skating rinks in the backyard, to which the neighborhood boys would show up unannounced!

He loved to work in his garage with his tools, tinkering with electronics, maintaining his lawn, and hosting family barbecues in the backyard. He will be missed by his only daughter who he called the baby of the family and Bandit. As well as many relatives and friends.

At this time there will be no service held, Brandi will hold a get-together at a later time with coffee, cake and music both of them loved, to honor Gail and Dave.

Those that wish to send condolences in remembrance of David, flowers (cat friendly), cards of condolences and anything else. Can be arranged through the funeral home.

Rest in peace, Dad, I will miss your phone calls, and your Bear Hugs.
