Redge James Slaunwhite
April 29, 1953 – December 24, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Redge James Slaunwhite on December 24, 2019 at the age of 66 years. He was surrounded with love by his son James and good friend Eileen. Redge was eager to help his close friends and family by working on their cars or helping them with handyman things around the house. Redge was a single father and was proud of the young man he raised. He continued his great work ethic as a truck driver in his later years. Those who knew Redge knew he could light up a room with a joke or a laugh. Redge was predeceased by his parents, John and Ida (nee Gagnon) Slaunwhite. He is survived by his son, James Grandbois and granddaughter, Laila Grandbois; brothers; Don (Dianne) Slaunwhite, and Ken Slaunwhite, sisters; Shirley (Joe) Sobochan, Joan (Len) Slaunwhite, and Lorrie Pheasey; close cousin, Ellen Gray; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Eileen Hannah for all the kind support she had shown to Redge during his illness.

Vera Ione Elkes (nee Newman)
November 24, 1933 - December 28, 2019.

Our Mother, Grandmother, Nana and Aunt, our Friend.

It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother on December 28, at age 86 years. After falling and breaking her hip, she slipped away quickly and unexpectedly. My sons, Evan (Kristi), Cole, Cameron, my daughter Miranda, and granddaughter Julia were stunned by the passing of their Granny, aka Nana. My sister, Linda (Ray) was there beside Mom, in the hospital when she died. Linda had to go home and console her children Ryan, Sean (Kori), and grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter and Gabrielle. My brother's children Alan (Jenn), Cory (Moriah), and granddaughter Melody will be missing Gramma Elkes as well.

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Fred, son Scott and grandson Kyle.

Mom spent most of her life in the Canadian Forces, first as an enlisted woman, then as the wife of an AirForce man. She was always a strong and beautiful person with a great personality and will be sorely missed by so many friends and family.
